Find a detailed list below of what we provide when you hire The Byre for your wedding.

Inside spaces, within The Byre

  • The Upper and Lower Byre: configure the Upper Byre as you wish for up to 150 guests for dining or as an alternative dance floor area; use the sunken Lower Byre for dancing or dining space for additional guests; these are flexible spaces designed to host guests up to a maximum of 200. We do sing about our sprung wooden floors, which are kind to dancers' feet and less noisy than solid or stone floors.
  • The Stable Room: a chapel-like, separate room within the Byre. Perfect for intimate ceremonies, the Stable Room can also be used as a bar area, for extra dining, a children's play area or, perhaps, a photo booth.
  • The Tree Room: a reception/coatroom with willow tree sculpture by Trevor Leat. The room is also equipped with a vast doormat, in case of rain.
  • And then there's our luxury loos! Reputedly, the most photographed loos in Perthshire. Located at the rear of the wedding barn, they feature underfloor heating, cool thunderbox loo seats handmade with recycled wood from the Byre, luxury Scottish Fine Soap toiletries, original Country Life photographic plates found in the Inchyra archives, plus zoned music so you can play separate sounds from the rest of the Byre.

Outside spaces around the estate

  • The Walled Garden: a stunning 2-acre magical Scottish garden and orchard where you can hold your outdoor wedding ceremony and reception.
  • The whole 150-acre estate for your wedding photography: our private grounds include woodland, parkland, the Walled Garden, and lawns of Inchyra House itself. Our venue is exclusive-use, so that you and your guests can enjoy the tranquility of a Scottish country estate on your wedding day.
  • Don't forget to walk through our willow Moon Gate as newlyweds! This is an ancient tradition that is said to open the heavens with benevolence. The gate was a special commission it was made by notable willow sculptor Trevor Leat and frames the entrance to the rhododendron tunnel, which leads from our historic country house to the Walled Garden.

Catering & bar areas

  • Rustic wooden bar units, using wood from the original building, provide the precise configuration you want, wherever you wish. In our Wedding Hire Charge we also include beer cooler systems and a double bottle fridge.
