The Byre at Inchyra is our beautifully rustic barn wedding venue

The Byre is the centre of every wedding at Inchyra. The heart-warming rustic atmosphere belies the fact that this barn wedding venue is hi-tech and fully equipped, giving you everything you need for an unforgettable celebration.

The beauty is in the detail right down to the Farrow & Ball paintwork, which emphasises the original 1877 character of the building. The Byre is a blank canvas venue, so you can design your wedding just as you wish.

FLEXIBLE SPACES FOR YOUR WEDDING

The Byre can comfortably accommodate up to 160 guests for dining, and the layout is so flexible that smaller weddings feel just as perfect in the space. The barn comprises the Upper and Lower Byre, the Stable Room, the Tree Room and of course our funky loos!

Behind the scenes, there's a fully equipped kitchen for your caterers.

ORIGINAL FEATURES

All around you are the original Byre walls, made with local sandstone, flint and granite, and above you are timbered roofs, perfect for creating stunning floral and lighting installations. Huge, original barn doors can swing closed at night to create atmosphere. The beautifully quiet, sprung floors are made with maple wood, reclaimed from renovations at Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow the ultimate for dancing feet!

We have made a feature of the beautiful old cattle troughs, creating a quirky sense of luxury. Fill them with water and romantic floating candles, or let them overflow with gorgeous plants and flowers. There's even an antique, rusty iron water pump!

The Upper Byre

SET UP YOUR RECEPTION AND DINNER HOW YOU CHOOSE

There's plenty of space in the Upper Byre for up to 160 people to dine.

We'll tell you about the many layout options for tables and the bar once you contact us and arrange a visit. It's wonderful to see how every couple reads this flexible space differently, in order to accommodate their wedding reception, dinner and bar.

The Lower Byre

THE PERFECT VENUE FOR YOUR OWN BARN DANCE

Just a couple of steps from the Upper Byre you reach the sunken Lower Byre the perfect space for live music and dancing.

Some couples, with larger guest lists, also choose to have their wedding ceremony here.

With such a wide open feel across the Upper and Lower Byre, split on two levels, you can plan your space and time to best effect. Our fully sprung floors make dancing all night a joy. You'll enjoy the difference it makes having a stage for your band: they can really perform! Flexible staging means that we can accommodate even the largest band.

In fact, the Byre stage has hosted performances by artists such as KT Tunstall, and events for BBC television.

The Stable Room

AN INTIMATE SPACE OFTEN USED FOR WEDDING CEREMONIES

Just off the main hall in the Byre, the Stable Room is the perfect place for an intimate indoor wedding ceremony, with wooden beams creating a romantic chapel-like atmosphere. It seats up to 110 people on rustic benches, handmade with wood reclaimed from the original Byre roof.

You can also use the Stable Room as a separate bar, dining room, a place to receive your evening guests or even as a children's play area. It's up to you.

The Tree Room

WELCOME YOUR GUESTS INTO THE COSY ENTRANCE HALL

This stunning entrance hall and cloakroom is dominated by a giant tree sculpture, created by acclaimed willow sculptor Trevor Leat, who we also commissioned to make the Moon Gate for Inchyra. A cosy stove adds warmth to winter weddings and the Tree Room is perfect for everything from signing the Register to a photobooth.
